电影记录了一对恋人三段时期的出行:恋人时、新婚时、中年时。

电影剪辑很棒 三段出行交错进行,互为交代,类似事件在不同时期的不同体验感予以我感触与思考:

电影中唯一不变的是赫本的美颜,一颦一蹙尽显风致,尽管此时的赫本已经四十有余,却总能在她与世界交流的明眸中看到未被污染的那一丝童真,也懂得了美人在骨不在皮。

 2 ) Temporal Design

According to Casper with Edwards, there are five time periods in Two for the Road. I would love to categorize these periods to three phases for every ordinary couple: in love wondering whether to be married or not, in marriage wondering whether to have a child or not, being parents wondering whether to divorce or not. Instead of displaying the changes of relationship in a chronological order, the film uses a lot of cross-cutting in terms of same space but a different time. Flashing back and forth to what happened before and after in the same journey for ten years, audience gain a more thorough sensation that it is the memory, along with other factors, in a relationship that keeps people together.

The director, Stanley Donen, puts the scenes together depending on the content and themes of the shots of the different period. Many of the interesting cuts won’t connect due to the spatial and temporal discontinuity, as Professor Casper lectured. In order to let the audience be aware of the change of time, characters have different clothes, hairstyle and cart types. For instance, when Joanna asked Mark “What kind of people would sit like that without a word to say to each other?”, Mark replied married people, then the next scene is that married Mark and Joanna not talking to each other while dining. Another example is when they don’t have a car, they imagined if they own a car in future they will definitely offer people on the road a drive, then the next scene is that they drive fastly across the same bridge, ignoring a couple on the road. All these cuttings add the humor of the movie.

电影告诉我的是:因为曾经爱过、拥有过快乐,所以可以原谅、包容,继续共同生活。

 6 ) 婚姻之路

这样的一部电影在赫本繁星闪烁的电影里算不起眼,但却是看过就不能忘怀的好,尤其推荐将来准备结婚的同志们,婚姻是条漫长路途,需要两个人同心上路,Two for the Road 说的是一对夫妇不同时期的上路经历,年少的ROAD TRIP一见钟情却是从斗嘴开始,新婚的贫穷也掩盖不了的欢乐,初有儿女的忙乱尴尬,中年忙碌的冷漠出轨的无奈,全都在编剧精妙得让人透不过气的对白中尽显。喜欢学英语的人可以看来做练习最好不过。
例如:什么样的人在餐馆里都不互相说话?
      已婚夫妇。
例如:不要走,我们结婚吧。
       好的。
   你会后悔的。
   永远永远永远不。

越是聪明越是不能放下架子,有时过多的冷幽默只是彼此伤害,但是好在他们每次都还是在正确时间的最后一秒说了:我爱你,挽救婚姻与水火。他泡过路遇的金发美女,她和别的男人有过一夜情,谁都不完美,但是却又都从最开始就那么确定地爱着对方,尤其是赫本饰演的乔安娜,率真热情地爱着他,虽然在斗嘴中从来也不认输,挖苦这个暴躁的男人,却还是在每次都帮他把护照保管好——这个小小的细节,就是爱情。而他,尽管总是在争吵的可能转折点TAKE THE WRONG TURN,却依然有足够的理
智把结果掉转,虽然是利用最简单的性来化解,也不失为一种方法。那些当赫本是公主的FANS们看到这片子估计要晕菜了,里面就是一个欲求不满的小女人,真实的一塌糊涂,因为那个1967,她也经历着自己一段长长婚姻的挣扎时刻,并最终还是离婚告终。谁说戏不是人生呢,只是,大多数时候,没有人生那么残酷。所以最后还是HAPPY ENDING,即便是一段路上的一个小小休息站,前路漫长还是要有个人做伴。

音乐是那个写MOON RIVER的我叫不出名字的作曲家,张雷同学介绍过他的故事,现在看来他写的音乐就是给电影做原声最合适的,从电影一开始就让人不觉沉浸在年华似水的感受中,淡淡的怀旧和感伤,电影里是年轻的他和她,不管好坏都是回不去的青春,让人只能怅然。电影外面,1957年的赫本出演FUNNY FACE,演绎小女生的童话爱情,那里只有HAPPY EVER AFTER;1967年的赫本是最时尚也最怀旧的DESPERATE HOUSEWIFE,戏里戏外都是婚姻的难题,而天使最后也没有在人世盼到一段完整的爱情,80年代,她的第2次婚姻又以离婚告终。相爱简单,相处太难。

另外,扯点关于时尚的事情,果然是风水轮流,白框大墨镜,短发和黑色粗眼线,甚至一身漆皮装,是不是听上去在今天也是一样的流行。最令人愕然的是最后一场景里赫本一身银色亮片的PARTY连身裙ONE PIECE的风格简直就是2007年最热的D&G的金色亮片裙的本家。让人感叹之余想说怎么没人研究这个时尚的长期周期波动捏,40年是不就是一个轮回呢?

 短评

这是我看过的赫本最棒的电影。在爱情里挣扎的两个人的十二年犹如几段旅行,一段张扬快乐、一段诉说悲伤、一段控诉无奈、一段陷入痛苦。车换了一辆又一辆、路过了一站又一站,还是那个人却不一定仍是那份情。最后剩下的是一长段回忆和一汪深情。“我爱你!”“那就好!”其实你在身边就好。

多南《狂人皮埃罗》附体,两位主角则乘坐飞车经历了多重的虫洞穿越,我们无需弄明白这些旅行具体发生的时间顺序,但电影无疑在这多重的穿越中为观众展现了一场更“永恒”的旅行:婚姻中无尽的循环,快乐、忧愁与折磨穿插反复着。随着主角在最后的大全景中跨境进入了我们看不到的新旅程,或许电影早已经重新开始。

婚姻是爱情的坟墓,激情消退如何重新找回遗失的爱,多南擅长的爱情喜剧,别开生面地将几次旅行交叉剪辑,公路电影的创意十足,特别是频频出现的同意象转场,时间变换,空间里更留下无限的唏嘘感慨,台词也有不少金句,两位主要也挺有趣,带给观众愉悦的享受。

恐婚片,像《夜》,一样是爱情死亡后徒留婚姻的困境,但与那不同的是这部里还有大量的甜蜜温馨的片段,还有那些争吵、摩擦、婚外情……看完倒没称赞它的叙事或者剪辑手法,因为片段性的插叙的叙事手法在这里显得平实,像一个老派导演所做的新潮尝试,而是最后那段,将爱情里的节点通过自驾行一段段路程拼凑起来,概括了这一段感情如何由生到死,尽皆在此,不由想到《千年女优》,不由想到《爱乐之城》。ps,AH在这里面显老了,时髦还是很时髦的。

为了几段回忆揉在一起的形式,为了赫本的好看,给三星吧。恋爱故事中有感人的地方,可总体感觉不疼不痒ni chaud ni froid…美国的爱情电影真心跟法国意大利的不一样,挺不习惯的。看到赫本闹脾气从海边起跑跑出百米开外时听到男主情急之下高喊你别跑啊你回来我就娶你她瞬间就转头回到男主身边两人就此结婚了的那段还是被culture shock到了:这已经是60年代末了啊,美国电影为啥还在讲这种童话故事…可能他们的出发点到底是相信婚姻的,然后经历了很多事,才渐渐开始总结开始感叹开始超越这个制度,但在我们这的电影里这个出发点很早就不复存在了。导演故意给赫本安排了几件颜色特别亮搭配特别丑的衣服,一出场就把观众逗笑了;他们和另外一家三口游Chantilly的那段真的就是法意常见的傻X美国游客典型…🤣

没想到这居然是一部公路片。本片最大的特色是娴熟地运用了交叉剪辑,把男女主人公从巧遇到相恋到十年后的婚姻危机整个历程勾勒得清清楚楚。看完全片你会发现,他俩真是太适合了,简直就是天造地设的一对啊。中年的赫本演技真好。本片的第二特色是运用女性视角叙述故事,所以观众看到的结果就是,这场爱情出现危机,完全是男人的问题。他自私、幼稚、忙于工作不顾妻儿,并且确实如那个刻板的教授所言有极强的控制欲。结局的和好,稍微有点莫名其妙。台词特别优秀,很多对话宛如诗歌,优美文雅,针锋相对,既推动情节又刻画人物,真是厉害。7分。

真正的公路电影,每一段戏都发生在路上。从相恋、与前女友一家出行、婚后出游到各自出轨再到复合,公路上写满了一对中产阶级夫妇的激情、倦怠和伤痕。剪辑出彩,每次转场都颇费心思,也是最值得看的错觉创意段落。赫本的各种摹仿秀精灵古怪,可惜38岁已显老态。

新浪潮版多南啊,不断跳切剪辑一对夫妻不同时空的状态,信息量非常大。那两个为任何愚蠢的理由疯狂大笑的年轻男女去哪儿了?他们曾经无时无刻不感觉到饿,感觉到欲望,就像车上的小女孩一样任性,直到他们自己成了父亲和母亲,突然间,随性而至不再是件快乐的事,太多责任,太多隔阂,太少荷尔蒙,不再在大路上搭便车,不再睡便宜的小旅馆,也没了胃口,没了做爱和爱人的欲望。题材是老的,但是总有新的故事和桥段,比如晒伤后全身疼痛也要拥抱的一幕就很美。

4 outta 4. Great Movie. 人物魅力、电影技术、剧本写作、摄影打光、配乐协调全都满分。我不知道是否应该把这部电影归类到chick flick里,因为它实际上更像一部雅克德米和Agnes合作风格下的那类型新浪潮气质描述婚姻和生活本质的电影。辛亏导演选择了倒叙和乱序的手法拍这部电影,如果按照正序来拍的话该多么无聊啊。我无法用一句话来总结我对这部电影的感受,我只能说爱情可能就是这么简单又复杂,但我感谢导演把我心目中爱情最应该的模样展现出来。
